Leaked pictures of the BlackBerry Storm 2, aka the BlackBerry Odin, have surfaced on CB, and have since been taken down. The device is looking really nice. With the flurry of complaints surrounding the released BlackBerry Storm, many users are worried the BlackBerry Storm 2 will be the phone they wished they’d originally purchased. This is very much going to be the case.
This leak is both bad and good news for RIM. The leak confirms a new BlackBerry Storm is on way, which will help generate a buzz until launch date, but it will also have a negative impact on the already launched BlackBerry Storm sales.
The upcoming BlackBerry Odin is rumored to feature GPS, WiFi and work on a GSM network. Rumors have claimed that the device offers a “new approach to text entry,” but from the pictures we aren’t seeing anything revolutionary.

Jim Balsillie, Co-CEO of RIM is making an aggressive move to get a 32-year lease for Copps Coliseum, buy the Phoenix Coyotes and move them to Hamilton, but the city of Arizona is trying to block his slapshot.
The city of Glendale, Ariz., laid out its legal objections to the proposed sale of the Coyotes, saying a bankruptcy court judge shouldn’t consider the sale of the team “based on the false premise that (the winning bidders) are legally capable of relocating the Phoenix Coyotes hockey team.”
The Glendale believes that their bankruptcy doesn’t allow the Coyotes to break their “Non-Relocation Covenant” that prohibits them from relocating, and requires the team to play all of its home games at the arena for the full term of the 30-year lease.
“The city believes that it has the right under applicable law to prohibit any relocation of the Phoenix Coyotes,” say the city’s documents signed by lawyer Cathy Reece. “The city believes and therefore asserts that its right to enforce the Non-Relocation Covenant under applicable law shall survive these Chapter 11 cases, including any sale of the (team).”
Obviously Arizona is not keen on the idea of losing their hockey team which generates revenue for the city. Even though the team is bankrupt, if they relocate, the city loses any potential of saving the hockey team as a revenue stream.
Although Arizona is upset about the deal, Hamilton couldn’t be happier about a team relocation. The city is expecting a surge in local spending as well as visitors from the surrounding cities for big games and events. Balsillie signed a deal which was approved unanimously by the council, promising Balsillie a long-term lease if he secures the Phoenix Coyotes. The deal includes a $5 million injection of cash from Balsillie to help upgrade the 17,000-seat arena by 2010.

The BlackBerry Tour 9630 is starting to show up in inventory consoles at Verizon retail shops. The units themselves are not in stock yet, but we usually get these leaks as we come closer to the shipping dates. It’s possible this device will hit shelves in July.

If you’ve ever read a RIM or RIM partner press release, you will notice that RIM legal as well as RIM marketing insist that the word “BlackBerry” is always written as “BlackBerry® smartphones” or “BlackBerry® smartphone device.” The reason for this, is that RIM branding wants to separate itself from the rest of the mobile phone market. Although I’m not a big fan of the registered trademark logo, or writing the stock symbol, there are still some branding issues I think are important.
Here are my top 3 tips when using the BlackBerry brand:
1. It’s a mobile computer not a fruit.
Many journalists, make the mistake of writing the plural form of BlackBerry as “BlackBerries.” The plural form of BlackBerry is ‘BlackBerry devices’ or ‘BlackBerry smartphones.’
2. There are 2 capital letters.
Again, the BlackBerry is not a fruit which only takes a capital at the beginning of a sentence. BlackBerry is a brand name with 2 capital letters.
3. A BlackBerry device is not a mobile phone.
A RAZR is a mobile phone. Anything made by Sony Ericsson is a mobile phone. A BlackBerry is not a mobile phone. The BlackBerry stands alone as a powerful device for enterprise and prosumers. If a group of devices are to be mentioned in a sentence, BlackBerry must stand alone. For example, “please submit your pagers, mobile phones, BlackBerry devices and laptops.”
Although this may all seem petty, it’s about time that the Internet knows how to properly refer to the device.

The sound that a Snapple cap makes when you push the “button” is very nostalgic. It’s a soothing sound that reminds you your bottle wasn’t tampered with and is safe to drink. Unless somebody cut the glass, inserted something poisonous, and then patched the glass professionally as to not leave any trace.
Well now you can get that sound on your BlackBerry Storm with Snapple Cap from StormGrounds.
