Awesome LBS app for BlackBerry Poynt now upgraded

The newest version of Poynt is available and it’s a must-have application. The new version should be live on App World and ready to download so try it out!

Poynt is a convenient and timesaving service that connects consumers to local businesses and theaters at the moment they want to buy or acquire products or services. By entering search terms, the consumer is able to find businesses and movies near their location, get phone and address information as well as additional enhanced features such as accessing movie reviews and trailers. For example, a Poynt user could locate themselves via the GPS on their smartphone, then search for businesses such as a car rental agency, hairdressers, hotels or attorneys. Results are sorted by distance and the user has the option to view directions on a map, click-to-call the business, or view their website.

@Cee Pee, I think this confirms what we all knew: Kyle has a mole inside Poynt. Either that or he’s working for the CIA. They’re the only logical explanations.

Please stop showing us the version we cannot get yet in your screen caps. The OpenTable feature isnt available to the rest of us and you are tormenting us! .

The new version is awesome though with the reverse lookup feature.

@Mav @Dave – The knife and fork icon is a restaurant feature. All I can say is that it’s not available yet but you should definitely look forward to it.

@Chuck – your guess is as good as mine. They have it and it’s clearly in a beta stage. These things usually take no longer than 6 months. I’d be surprised if you didn’t hear something in the next couple of months.
