@DavidB actually yes you can have EDGE without BIS or BES. I had EDGE service for years with PREPAID on my BLACKBERRY. Please gain some knowledge before you type.

Just bought it, installed in my strom (9500).
No improvement at all using Opera mini and BBBrowser AND after opening 2-3 pages my storm hanged, so i have to pull the battery out.
Bad experience.

Purchased this yesterday for my 8310. Despite being hugely skeptical like everyone else about its viability, I figured $9.00 is a small price to pay for even the remotest possibility that it might improve EDGE speeds. Turns out skepticism is well-founded. After multiple page-load tests before and after using the app with the BB Internet Browser, there is ZERO difference in performance.

@David B, my apology for misunderstanding. What I wanted to mean was “the max connection a Curve. 8310 is capable of is EDGE”, in fact I’m always on “edge” since I never use BES and my vendor (the most infamous China Mobile) hasn’t introduced BIS yet.

By the way I do agree deprieto and your insights about the doubts on this NetAcc app.

Installed it on my Curve 8310. Since I just use my blackberry for phone calling and mobile web browsing on the go as a regular phone, I never sign any BES or BIS contract, and since Curve product line only support EDGE, and this signal enhancement software does offers one optimization option for non-BES or BIS users, it surely catches my eye balls at the first place, how ever, after the installation, no obvious signal improvement has been found. Well, all in all it is yet another useless memory waste pile of junk IMO.

This was listed about a couple days ago on BerryReview and pretty much universally doubted.
Since there is no API on the BB OS for doing such things, unleas RIM has given these guys special access to undocumented calls there’s no way it can do what it claims, unless maybe by rerouting your TCP/IP through so highly optimizing proxy server thay does a better job the RIM’s own BIS proxies.

Looks like snake oil to me.
