I like how you immediately rush to the conclusion that I pirate software just on the basis of mentioning the word ‘torrent.’

Maybe software would be cheaper if companies weren’t greedy the way Adobe(and similar other companies) is. Maybe I SHOULD start torrenting. Lord knows I would only be a drop in the bucket.

Yeah Dave. I couldn’t agree more. Illegally pirating copyrighted works that belong to the people who base their business on creating software is a great idea, justified by them asking you to pay for it.

Maybe software would be cheaper if people like you paid for it instead of STEALING it?

As a follow-up to my previous posts, doesn’t the BBDM with Roxio convert video to be played on the BB? I have used it before to convert movies I had for my ipod to be used on the BB and it is free. So if you use dvdcatalyst / dvd to go / handbrake for dvd’s and bbdm/roxio for other videos then what value does this $40 application provide?

Hooray for more overpriced software that does the same as cheaper fair.
And companies wonder why people torrent their stuff because no one is willing to pay $400 for PhotoShop.

Also, I’d like to give the free version of this a try at the very leat, so how ’bout a Download link?

I guess the advantage would be able to convert non-DVD videos as well which I haven’t tried or had to do yet.

Not sure why someone would pay $40 for this. I use dvdcatalyst 3 and it works great. I have converted over 20 movies and all play great on my bold. All I need to do is connect the bold as mass storage and drag and drop. The trial lets you do complete movies for 7 days. The cost is only $9.99. I also tried the trial version of dvd to go (full version $19.99) but their trial only allowed you to do 5 minutes which wasn’t enough for me to test video/audio quality vs. file size. I also heard that some people had trouble with it. Both of these seem very easy to use and had Bold profiles as well as other BB devices. Neither were as flexible as Handbrake (free) but I could never quite get the settings correct for my bold but did for ipod nano.
