I'm neither - I support mobile devices for a fortune 100 company and get any device I want so its a nice job perk.

I understand your frustration about Storm as I faced the same thing - was it RIM or VZW that wan't it out before the holiday season? My bet is VZW as iPhone was stealing user $$$. Now .148 is solid and it's a decent device I still use it as I love the screen and size.

Blackberry has AppWorld that while is not as clean and robust as AppStore it serves its purpose - a single place to get additional applications to extend the functionality of your Blackberry. Majority of Blackberry users are likely email focused so by nature Apps don't appeal to them as much. I'm sorry who even syncs anymore via USB? If it's not OTA I'm not interested - but thats likely due to having BES / Exchange 2007 etc at my disposal. I'd seriously consider paying for a hosted BES account it's that much better.

I didn't tell anyone to "shut up" - the fact is there is no perfect device, just this week my Pre came in and it has some very nice features to it. No where near enough for it to be my lone device but it has potential.

I'm sorry but the cell phone world is very different then the PC one. Devices are cycled and EOL much faster. Sure Apple can support 3 models but your already starting to see them limit functionality on the 1st model. I'm guessing by Q2 next year it will only be 3G S.

Math - I have draws of curves and 8820's drop me a message on what carrier you need and I'll upgrade you. No one should have to suffer with a Pearl.

@Frank: you think bashing us because we have phones that are crap in your opinion (but are still being sold to this day) helps making your point about Blackberry? iPhone has 1 model (if you exclude the different capacities), and they all work. What does this tell you about BB vs iPhone?

So just how is Joe User supposed to know which phone is crap and which is not when he's in the store buying a Blackberry?

I don't know to whom you are referring by ifanatic, but as I have a storm, I feel kinda adressed by your dribble, as it seems that anyone who loses patience at the first BB is a fanatic iphone fan in your point of view
.
FYI, this is what the iphone has, that BB has not:
-an app store
-an OS that has been beta tested before it was released and gets updated regularely by the company making it (apple)
-the possibillity to sync with the three major desktop operating systems (they are called Windows, MacOS and Linux)

The fact that you claim to own five different phones means that you are eigther crazy or a mobile phone sales person.
Your suggestion to ditch my phone just to buy another blackberry makes both choices plausible.

I know this is hard for you BB-boys to understand, but telling people to shut up when they complain does not make your product good.

Have a fantastic weekend.

Too funny we have a iFanatic that had a Storm (already known as the worst BB - but that is subjective and a Pearl user?!? those things are like 4 years old? Get a Curve or Bold already - they are what BB is all about and last I saw Curve has been #1 for 4 months, BOGO aside. RIM is flat out in more markets and on more carriers then iPhone so more people have access to them.

I have a Bold, Storm, 8900, iPhone and now a Pre and each has its pros and cons. iPhone is not even close to what BB does well and vice versa - thus I have a LOT of devices and switch often.

And a previous poster is right - a BB on BES is hands hand above anything iPhone can do with Exchange ActiveSync - trust me if you think otherwise your kidding youself.

Apple is excelling due to AppStore - some slick stuff there no doubt and for consumers that want a little productivity and fun it's a good choice - IF at&t works for them coverage wise AND they can swing the steep plan pricing (more then BB).

After owning the storm for three months, I must say that its the worst gadget I have ever owned. Even the first palm I had was faster and more stable, nine years ago. I can not understand that there are any BB-fanboys out there after experiencing the endless ignorance RIM shows their customers. I guess after wasting 500 bucks on a calculatorshaped phone which is incapable of answering calls, you have to lie to yourself... and you must hate the iphone users for being so god damn happy, right?

I doubt that my next phone will be an Iphone, but I can swear that I will never have a second blackberry.
