The WordPress BlackBerry client has finally launched in public beta. The app is Open Source, as per the guiding ideology of the WordPress organization, and has been long awaited by micro-bloggers everywhere.
The app is a collaboration with the fine folks at Danais, who lead the MoPress Open Source project.
Here are some things to consider while taking a tour of this new BlackBerry app:
* The app is for WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress version 2.5.1 or newer
* This app should work with any of the new BlackBerry devices such as the 8700, Pearl, Curve, Bold, and Storm
* BlackBerry OS requirements are OS 4.2.1 or newer
Being a public beta, it’s important to realize the large amount of potential bugs that can occur, before writing this app off as not what you want. If you’re not interested in trying a pre-release version of this software, you should wait until 1.0 is out.
To install the beta application: Point your BlackBerry browser to http://blackberry.wordpress.org/install and follow the instructions.

If you find bugs: Review the How To Report a Bug documentation and submit tickets over on blackberry.trac.wordpress.org.
For developers out there wanting to get involved, you can browse the source code and check out a copy of the app via SVN.

For some unknown reason the wordpress app is not made for the Storm. I down loaded the app and are having issues.

Good news! Unfortunately my storm stuck when I try to start the application and I’ve to do an hard reset.
I was so excited when I read this but can’t make it work on any of my Wordpress blogs – keeps coming up with claims of wrong URL/username/password. What a let down.
