I’ve been trying out the BlackBerry Gemini 8520 and I cannot for the life of me open the battery casing.
It may be that I don’t have enough calcium in my diet or it could also be that this battery casing is blogger-proof. Either way, my fingers are crossed that this changes before the device hits the market.
On a side note, don’t bother complaining about the video quality. I use a BlackBerry to take all my video and device pictures. I refuse to use an extra device. This isn’t BlackBerryandaCamcorder Cool.

Dude, someone is messing with you and crazy glued that thing down. All of the 8520’s in my hands, that battery cover pops off at the slightest touch and IMO is probably one of the WORST battery covers due to the ease in which it comes.
@Bla1ze – It must be the unit I have. But it’s hilarious that we have completely polar experiences with the covers.
have you tried pushing the case in and sliding it upwards?
It doesn’t have a latch?
I know that with my storm that if I drop it onto concrete the cover and batter pops out. You could try that
