Battery performance has become silly since this push. I never even started the slacker app so I have no idea why it would use up more battery but I'm down from a lifetime of 24hrs (about three weeks ago) to 8hrs. I've even had to turn off services I normally keep on such as bluetooth and GPS. I'm pretty annoyed about Verizon forcing stuff through on us - especially when the stuff they push is messed up.

I don't think it can be stopped if they send it as a Service Book? They just recently also pushed vcast and songid and are pushing My Verizon and some other "spam" apps.

Be glad you aren't on ATT. I read they push upwards of 20 such things to their BB customers and despite public complaints are keeping it up.

All you can do is "hide" them. Even if you delete the service books they come back next reboot. Same for Flickr, FaceBook, all the IM apps, App Center, and on and on.

Anyone know how to keep this spam (err, "feature") from being pushed to our device? I have absolutely no use for it and the fact that it's being forced on me is more than a little irritating. Why not provide the feature on an opt-in basis and let me choose whether or not I want to download it?

Anybody know what version number the pushed version is?
I have Slacker 2.0.2 I downloaded from App World and today it is giving ne a java io exception error and crashes when I try to log in. I looked in Service Books and none related to Slacker found.
