Id like to know how to unlock a blackberry tour from us.cellular so i can use it with straight talk. any help? it’d be really appreciated so thank you much in advance lol

I know this is an old thread, but since it still ranks high in the Google listings for “Unlock Sprint phone” I’ll add some info.
Long story short, Ive gone through two ATT phones while a practically new SPRINT 9650 sat in its box in my closet. Id always been told by Sprint and read online that Sprint and ATT are NOT compatible NO way, NO how.
After my ATT Blackberry Curve passed away last night, I figured, “It never hurts to try.”
So I inserted my ATT SIM card into the SPRINT Bberry 9650, went to Options>Network Connections>Mobile Network> and set the Network Technology to GSM/UMTS and the Network Mode to 2G (as suggested below).
It works.
I am now using ATT service in my Sprint Blackberry 9650 IN THE U.S. And I didnt have to call anyone or unlock anything. (These phones that have a SIM card slots are pre-unlocked). Wish I wouldve tried it a long time ago instead of listening to the customer service phone reps at Sprint saying it couldnt be done.

the answer above says that he can access the web and send and receive texts but can you also make, and receive calls with the sprint unlocked and t-mobile sim card installed

Actually, I called and they refused to help with anty unlock codes. They said they could not help unlock “their” phones. I reminded them that it is “my” phone but they still would not help..Dead end here.

I called Sprint to ask for the MEP code and the Sprint international support person said all “international” phones (i.e. with sim cards) are shipped unlocked. He said I won’t be able to replace the sim card in the US, like with AT&T or other carriers but will be able to purchase a sim card overseas and be able to use it there without any problems.

I guess I wil find out.

I have this same problem. “AFTER ENTERING MEPD SCREEN COMES UP BUT MY NETWORK SAYS DISABLED, AND
WHEN I ENTER MEP2 NOTHING HAPPENS. NOW WHAT DO I DO? HELP”

When the screen comes up to enter mep2 under “network” it should say “inactive” after it has been unlocked, not “disabled”.

Hi, I am having trouble with unlocking the blackberry tour when I get to the screen where I am suppose to enter mep2. Under the network it does not say “inactive” it says “disabled”. When I type mep2 nothing happens. How do I get past this? Thanks

I absolutely adore this phone. I received my device in a timely manner, which was three days before the estimated arrival date.I bought mine refurbished which is practically new. No glitches so far but i guess thats the wonder of refurbished items…they’ve been repaired.

i tried calling Sprint and told them my problem..that i got the phone in US and using it in India…but they are saying that they wont be able to help without the account information. So can anyone help on this too..coz i dont know the original buyer of the phone and i got it from Amazon..they also dnt know about it…spoke with them too.

Hi everyone…I need a small help..i bought this Sprint Unlocked Phone from Amazon…and i am using this in India on Vodafone…i am able to make calls and send SMS…but i am not getting EDGE in caps. i tried all possible things…called the service provider…they are not able to Help. in SIM options i have all options as “Disabled”. Can anyone please help. It will be a waste of money for me…as i primarliy purchased this device for emails. How do i get the capital EDGE.on this Sprint Phone…
