The TELUS BlackBerry Tour 9630 is rumored to hit shelves July 15th for $249.99 on a 3-year contract.
What do you think of the pricing? It’s always expensive to be an early adopter, but at least the Tour isn’t as rich as the Bold when it first launched.
A German BlackBerry site posted some screenshots of OS 5.0.0.92 and the features available with the new OS.
When it comes to the loading process, it’s great to have the status bar in OS 5.0. Before, you would have to stare at the “white screen of death” for what seemed like half and hour before you device turned on. While I don’t believe OS 5.0 loads any faster, you can still check when the device will be finished loading.
One feature you will notice that is significantly faster, is the key locking system. Locking and unlocking the keys is much faster.
The new messenger client is going to be the focal point of the latest OS. With avatar support, and a wide range of messenger features, RIM is going to change the way BlackBerry users communicate. I’m also looking forward to the use of barcodes in order to exchange info. It brings us another step closer to countries such as Japan, where QR codes make contact information fast and efficient. Today a ”BlackBerry Loves U2” web page has been discovered on BlackBerry.com, pushing what is called the “U2 Mobile Album“, with additional links to the official U2 website and AppWorld, along with a link to signup for more information when the U2 Mobile Album is released… Do you think it is possible u2 might ONLY initially release an entire album in mobile format? Would that be a first? When I watch the video real close, I see what appear to be some screenshot from a media player (hopefully on a BlackBerry), and one that reads “this is the image you’ll be sharing with others who listen to this song.“
