TetherBerry is a simple way to tether your BlackBerry to your laptop. The app involves installing a connector to your desktop, as well as the software to your device.
This app used to take some tweaking in your Internet settings to get it to work, but the latest builds have eradicated much of that. Also, while it requires that you are connected via USB, the company is working on a Bluetooth solution.
TetherBerry is normally priced at $49.95, but it is now available for $24.98.

Today in New York, the bidding starts for Nortel Networks Corp.’s largest business unit. RIM has been denied entry into the bidding process because it has failed to sign an agreement that the other businesses have signed.
Nortel CEO Mike Zafirovski, has explained to the press that RIM is refusing to sign what Zafirovski has called “a standard non-disclosure agreement before getting a close look at Nortel’s books.”
RIM has said it will continue to find ways to purchase the business unit and add it to RIM’s valuable intellectual property portfolio. If RIM does manage to purchase the business unit, they will have access to CDMA and LTE technology which will go a long way to improving BlackBerry devices and network infrastructure.
“That’s really what these guys are after,” said Nizar Assnie, vice-president of Vancouver-based IE Market Research Corp. The next-generation technology will provide carriers with the ability to offer cellphones with advanced, data-heavy features such as video streaming at ultra-fast speeds. Leading in LTE is a must “if you’re going to be a serious network infrastructure player in the wireless space [in] ten years,” he said.
There is clearly something more to the “standard non-disclosure agreement” that is causing RIM to refuse to sign. If one had to guess, the agreement probably contains some element that RIM legal, Balsillie and Lazardis, deem to be detrimental to the profitability of the purchase. Either that, or perhaps they don’t see the purchase as being a necessary step for the company, and they’re saying “take our offer or leave it, we’re not signing anything.”

Technology and religion have often been seen as near mutually exclusive. Religion looks to lessons learned a few millennium ago, while technology is constantly trying to replace old understandings of this world with new ones. On the other hand, technology and religion go incredibly well together in that religion has a foundation of communication, which technology is making leaps and bounds in.
President Barack Obama is a great example of how technology and religion are symbiotic. Each morning, Obama reads a devotional on his BlackBerry.
“I pray all the time now — because I’ve got a lot of stuff on my plate and I need guidance all the time,” he said with a laugh during an interview with ABC’s Nightline that was aired Thursday night.
Obama said he receives his daily devotional from Joshua DuBois, his director of faith and neighborhood initiatives.
“That’s how I start my morning. You know, he’s got a passage, scripture, in some cases quotes from other faiths to reflect on. This is something where you just hope that you are aligning your work with His purposes and that you’re attuned to the needs of the people you’re there to serve,” he said. ”
