Download free apps from BlackBerry App World from any country

I found this great article in the forums that shouldn’t go unnoticed. It’s a little old but hopefully someone out there gets some use from it. The how to will allow you to download the free apps from BlackBerry App World, even though RIM hasn’t officially launched in your country.

1. Download the App World .ZIP file.
2. Unzip it to your desktop
3. Copy the files net_rim_bb_appworld.cod, net_rim_bb_appworld_resource_en.cod and JavaLoader.exe to the following folder depending on your Windows OS:

    3.1 In Windows Vista “C:\Users\(Your User)
    3.2 In Windows XP “C:\DocumentsandSettings\(Your User)

4. Start CMD (Windows Key + R and then type CMD)
5. Plug-in your BlackBerry
6. Type: javaloader -u load net_rim_bb_appworld_resource_en.cod
once done type next one:
7- Type: javaloader -u load net_rim_bb_appworld.cod

Your device will now reboot and you will have App World on your device. This has been tested on the Curve 8900 and the Bold, so make sure to comment whether it works for you.

BlackBerry Storm users:

1. Download the App World .Zip file.
2. Unzip it to your desktop
3. Run the Blackberry Desktop Manager
4. Select Application Loader
5. Select Add / Remove Applications
6. Select Browse and look at your desktop for the file “appworld.alx” and select it.
7. Click Next and then Finish.

    Hello I just tried the hint, I can't even load javaloader from CMD, it says it doesnt recognize javaloader (i work under windows XP)
    Any Help ?!

    i downloaded it on my bold 2 but it says:

    “you must update the following applications to use them with blackberry device softwar 5.0.”

    Do you know where I can find an update?

    Whenever I try to download it, It opens a rapishare page and says:
    “ERROR
    The file could not be found. Please check the download link”
    What should I do please??

    it worked on my bb 8520, i'm from portugal so i shouldn't need to do this but i have a data plan for my bb and still couldn't download app world . i have tried everything. thanks

    ps: just tried to enter on app world and it says that I need a data plan that allows brownsing. LOL wtf(?) some times i hate vodafone.
    anyway now i have the app world so i just need to kill someone in vodafone to tell what data plan do I need!

    it says “upgrade your service to a plan that includes browsing and discover a world of possibilities at blackberry”

    Previously i installed using this link and app world worked for 6 or 7 months. Now it gives error (upgrade your service to a plan that includes browsing ….) and wont work. Any idea why ?

    I am on the same package and thing has changed.

    Hi, tried using it on a Du 8520 in Dubai, but it said I had to update to the latest version, which I said no to and subsequently the BB removed the 'incompatible' software.
    I tried to say yes and download the new version, which obviously does not work as it is not a compatible country.

    1) download blackberry curve os 5 from blackberry site and install it on pc
    2) goto c:programfilescommonfilesresearchinmotionapploader delete the vendor.xml file
    3) remove battery from cell, connect cell to pc and start loader.exe which is present in the path given above
    4) it will show you the list of OS present online and in pc, select os 5 present in pc and hit next
    5) when you see reconnect to jvm, plug in the battery and wait
    6) OS wil be installed :)

    for storm user can be downloaded and installed via the official site, however to run it you need to do a simple trick…disconnect from your carrier while you run the installed App world on your bb…you won’t have the line but once you download and install what you need you can activate it back:P

    erm…how’d u get it to work? i managed to install appworld on my bold9000, but when i start it, it shuts down after telling me that itz not available for my country :S
