Orange Jordan have announced that they’re launching the BlackBerry Bold, arguably RIM’s flagship device. While we aren’t seeing any details on pricing, the BlackBerry Bold comes at a recommended retail price of $1,199.
If you visit the Orange Jordan site, there isn’t a link for BlackBerry or any information on what devices they sell. There is, on the other hand, a ton of information about the iPhone. It will be interesting to see how many Jordinians buy the BlackBerry Bold, even though it doesn’t seem to have much in the way of marketing.

The BlackBerry Curve 8520 is an introductory BlackBerry for those just entering the smartphone market. With Airtel, RIM have introduced the device to India, which seems to be a good demographic for the device.
Something that is unique about the launch is that the device is being offered on prepaid. This has been a strategy of RIM and developing markets for a while now. Emerging markets tend to favor the prepaid system, due to the fact that contracts are more difficult to manage given the credit systems required. The downside of a prepaid system is that it inevitably makes the device more expensive. At Rs. 15,990, the Curve 8520 is selling for roughly $334.87 USD.

TetherBerry recently sent out an email to their private Mac beta testers with the final version of their Mac beta. According to the developers, “this will be our last beta release before our Mac official release, unless any major bugs are found.”
The most recent update works on Tiger, Leopard, G4s and a number of bugs have been resolved. If you haven’t tried the beta, it still takes some finagling but it does work.
For now, you can purchase the PC version of TetherBerry for $10 off until August 12th.
