SMS VCard Add-on is a BlackBerry app that enables your BlackBerry to receive, import and send contacts using the same SMS protocol as Nokia.
If you’re not familiar with the feature, with a Nokia device you can bring up a menu that allows you to send someone else’s contact information to a friend via SMS, MMS, Bluetooth and InfraRed. Note that only the Name, Phone and Email fields are sent due to SMS size restrictions.
SMS VCard Add-on is available for $1.99.

Third party BlackBerry Instant Messaging clients are a key component of the BlackBerry experience. Rumor has it that around mid/late September (new device time!), BlackBerry IM clients such as Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger, Google Talk and ICQ will see some really decent updates.
Your third party BlackBerry IM clients will be updated with the following features:
- Add dedicated icons to the Home Screen for one-click access to conversation boxes of specific contacts. The icon appears as the contact’s display picture or avatar
- Add contacts and display pictures or avatars to the address book to easily send instant messages, email messages, SMS text messages, or place a call right from the address book or conversation box
- Search through saved conversations
- Add dedicated emoticon icons in the conversation box
What updates would you like to see?

Native threaded SMS is just around the corner for BlackBerry users and now you can get an advanced preview if you’re using a BlackBerry Curve 8900 or Bold 9000.
The latest OS leak, OS 5.0.0.190, delivers native threaded SMS for BlackBerry. While you won’t get the tabbed browsing as seen in previous OS 5 leaks, the native SMS client is reason enough to download. But remember, as with all OS leaks, proceed with caution! Always back up your device first because you may lose data.
Download OS 5.0.0.190 for your BlackBerry Bold 9000.
