VQ CarFinder giving away 10 CarFinder Bundles

VQ CarFinder are giving away 10 VQ CarFiner Bundles through BlackBerry Cool and all you have to do is comment to win.

The application helps you remember where you parked your car by integrating a GPS-enabled BlackBerry with the car’s Bluetooth. As you drive, the application recognizes that the Bluetooth signal is on and tracks your GPS location. When you park you car and turn off the engine, the Bluetooth signal is cut, signaling to the application to mark your GPS location and therefore where you parked. If your car doesn’t have Bluetooth, you can buy a Bluetooth car charger from within the app for $19.99.

VQ Carfinder is available on a free trial and the full license is available for $9.99.

To win 1 of 10 bundles through BlackBerry Cool, tell us; “have you ever forgotten where you parked?”

On top of the BlackBerry Cool giveaway, VQ CarFinder is also running their “Lost My Car” contest where users can win 1 of 3 BlackBerry devices. Honourable mentions win $25 BBerry Accessory Store e-Gift Cards.

YouMail customers with VoIP or PBX get a free DropBox service

Comments

YouMail have announced their DropBox service: a free service that allows users to integrate VoIP and PBX voicemail with your BlackBerry voicemail. To use this service, your VoIP or PBX must support delivering voicemails by email as an MP3 or WAV file.

Every YouMail customer has a DropBox at myphonenumber@my.youmail.com (ie. 8881234567@my.youmail.com). To setup this DropBox, change the email address that your VoIP voicemail is delievered to, to the DropBox email provided.

Once setup, all voicemails sent to your DropBox should then appear in the YouMail inbox. Once there in YouMail, you have access to key YouMail features including access from BlackBerry apps, voicemail sharing, spam filtering, and more. You’ll even get full Caller ID from most services.

BabyGo by Zeebu is a free and healthy BlackBerry app for babies

Have you ever been around a baby or child and watched them grab for your BlackBerry? We place so much attention and value on our BlackBerry devices and children recognize this. In the same way that kids love handling money because of its value to their parents, they love playing with a BlackBerry too.

The folks at Zeebu have made a free application that is unique in that it focuses on babies and children as their target market. BabyGo is a free app that is not only fun for your child, but healthy too!

The application is simple: load the app, give the device to your baby and let them play with it. The letters on the keyboard respond with the relative audio and visuals. Press the letter ‘a’ and hear a cute voice say “a.” The above video shows you just how simple and fun the app can be. You don’t have to worry about accidental emails or calls either. All keys are intercepted so your device is protected.

We pay so much attention to our BlackBerry devices and now, just as we teach our kids to share, we too can share our toys.

To get started, visit http://babygo.zeebu.com/download on your BlackBerry Browser.

For Storm users, visit http://babygo.zeebu.com/download/storm/.

You can also visit their homepage for more information or to have the application emailed to you.

Flick scrolling for the BlackBerry Storm with BerryScroll

One of the greatest things about owning a BlackBerry is that if you’re ever feeling like the device lacks a particular feature, there is usually an application out there to help.

For users with a BlackBerry Storm, one of these features is “flick scrolling,” which is available on most touchscreen devices such as the iPhone.

BerryScroll gives you flick scrolling functionality for the BlackBerry Browser, contacts, phone and media application. While there is no free trial available, the app has gone through extensive beta testing.

BerryScroll is available for $4.99 from the BlackBerry Cool store.

Official MyBlackBerry forum and community registration now available

You can now register for the MyBlackBerry forums and community. There isn’t much there at the moment, but it is the summer and things tend to be a little slow around this time of year. Hopefully things will pick up in the fall when more devices are launched and the community gets a boost.

Also, many users are saying they are having trouble getting in with Google Chrome, so if you’re getting errors, try changing browsers.
