RIM is on an updating roll bringing all the IM clients to 2.5 with some new features. Apart from being OS 5.0-compatible, the new clients feature deeper integration with BlackBerry address book contacts, conversation search function, and better emoticon selection.
There is also a new feature that allows you to save a favorite contact as a home screen icon for even faster navigation.

The new Yahoo Messenger is now 2.2 MB compared to the previous version at 600KB. That seems so bloated. Sticking with my current version. Working well unless someone can tell me that newer version has much more features worth the extra 1.6MB of memory.
Does not longer work on 8700g with 4.5OS RT @BlackBerryCool: BlackBerry Instant Messenger clients updated to 2.5 http://bit.ly/RskF2
I just wish they’d give the AIM app a few more options (such as buddy icon designation)
I wonder why BB doesn’t just create one app around the BB Messenger app but allowing for multiple clients at the same time instead of having very similar apps for all clients.
