The BlackBerry Market Research Panel is a quick survey that seeks to get your feedback on BlackBerry products and services. The panel is looking for BlackBerry users, IT administrators, decision makers, and RIM partners to join the panel and share their opinions and insights on a variety of topics related to the platform.
This is a great opportunity to contribute to the platform and help make it a better experience for everyone. By getting a wide variety of users to fill out the survey, it will help RIM better shape the BlackBerry to serve their customer base. As RIM now has a 50/50 customer base between enterprise and consumers, they’re going to need your help in figuring out how best to serve both markets.

A new video by Salomondrin shows the BlackBerry Storm 2 with the ability to toggle the clicking sound for SurePress. This is a great feature considering many users want complete silence from their device.
Here is a theory, and this could be going way out on a limb, but I’m going to call Verizon PR on this one. All other BlackBerry Storm 2 videos have been pulled. This means Salomondrin is either saying all the right things to allow his videos to avoid the RIM legal machine, or he has some inside privilege.
Also, this isn’t the first time Verizon has controlled their leaks. Remember last year with the original BlackBerry Storm? Well perhaps they’re doing it all over again. Here are some examples from last year:
Just search ‘Verizon leak’ on BlackBerry Cool and you can see the plethora of “leaks” that came out before the Storm launch.
Although, an easy way to prove me wrong would be to find a few videos of the Storm 2 from other YouTube users that have negative criticism and haven’t been pulled.
In any case, the device looks great and it doesn’t really matter if it’s Verizon or not. The fact is that we get to see the device early.
UPDATE: Sorry folks, looks like the video has been removed. Until next time!
The BlackBerry Bold 9700 is shaping up to be one of the most impressive devices in the RIM product line. The device is part of the Bold product line meaning that it’s geared towards high level executives and CEOs. That means that it will be relatively expensive and come with all of the features you would expect from a high-end smartphone.
The above video is a quick look at the form factor and trackpad functionality. It’s safe to say we’re all looking forward to trying this one out.
The Facebook app for BlackBerry is rumored to get an official update to version 1.7 as early as in the next couple of weeks.
Some of the features rumored to be in the next release include:
The ability to set filters to customize your feeds. This includes only status updates, new pictures etc.
Faster page loads.
New navigation options.
The source of the leak also describes a feature translated as “Possibility of setting time of the news as the target customer for the FB-BB.” Google translator isn’t perfect.
It’s possible this update will coincide with the launch of OS 5.
