Hi, I bought this app last night and it seems to work pretty well, a lot depends on the internet speed but I am happy with the purchase. A question though, I am using the app on a Blackberry Bold and I am not sure how one gets the options of “brightness, volume and screen flow” as the Bold does not have a touch screen…..any tips?

I have the full version and it works fine. Very few channels are in English which can be frustrating as I only speak that language. The English channels are good. Picture and sound comes in fine. I run it on my Storm over EVDO and have no problems.

@pacmanateme: Thanks for your feedback that the product isn’t worth the money. However, the trial version does not even attempt to start the stream; instead, when you hit Play on any channel, you see the following message: “The full version of SPB TV allows you: watch all public channels, makes reminders in program schedule, manage channels list” along with a Register option and a Cancel option. So it’s clear that the trial version will not let you actually try it.

So yeah, the trial is useless, and the feedback here from people who’ve installed the full version is all negative. Obvious skip.

cledtis, that is how well the product actually works. I beta tested for them for a bit. Most channels that were in English didn’t stream at all, some only streamed audio. Some worked, however the picture was poor and the stream kept skipping, even while on wifi. I wouldn’t give them $3 for this product, let alone $10.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Actually saved me from downloading a useless trial version. It’s puzzling to me why they would disable play in a trial version that will expire.

doesnt work, can only ever get the first channel to run, anything else and there is always a connection problem, paid the 10bucks to find that out hmmm!!!

So if I understand their product correctly, it is a central directory from which one can browse lots and lots of public TV channels which are already streaming their content over the web. So this product gives you the convenience and the nightmare of having perhaps hundreds of channels from around the world to sift through before finding those in which you are interested. It seems that since all of their content is already available from the content providers’ websites, then an alternative to this product would be simply using the Bolt browser to view those channels you wish to view without going through the convenience/nightmare of the SPBTV interface. And Bolt is free. So I guess if you think this product is a convenience, it may be worth $10. (After all, these guys have already gone through the trouble of figuring out which channels do offer their content freely over the ‘net, and they’ve categorized them all; that might just be worth $10 right there. I know I’m starting to talk myself into it.)

Also, I was unable to find a single channel that would actually play in the trial version — which makes it not much of a trial, since you get no idea of how well the product actually works.

Anybody have a differing opinion?
