You are correct in the technical sense, as there was such a great expenditure of resources with CDMA that there will be a residual market for that technology as currently deployed for some time. Furthermore, there seems to be some indication of success in a standard compliant data package handover scheme from LTE to CDMA. If this is true, it would introduce a system able to take advantage of the network qualities of CDMA with the speed of LTE. The Verizon technical team is first rate; I hope that they might ascend to a level where their corporate input rises above that of marketing in choosing and releasing technology.

Even the link that you posted contradicts your statement. Go back a reread it. It clearly states that LTE will work alongside the CDMA network. The higher ups at Verizon have been saying from day 1 that the CDMA voice network will not be going anywhere anytime soon.

Whether or not the date is true or will be changed again is up to Verizon of course, but it seems logical to me that they would rather release the device on a Saturday (24th) rather than on a Wednesday (28th) for the sake of numbers.

There is no reason why Vodaphone is releasing the Storm 2 ahead of Verizon. This technical approval baloney is so obvious as to be infuriating.
