yeah guyz! this shit works. what i don’t know is if you really need to be on line to do this upgrade but i must tell you that it wasn’t easy. get ready for the worst. my phone crashed twice before i successfully upgraded….

JOhn , with all due respect, you have not replied in support of the new Blackberry OS 5.0.x. I agree that Mark seems like an overt Apple fanboy and wanted to thrash BB, but if his observations are correct about the new BB OS, then I would agree it is not a polished product and not worth upgrading to, for all its bugs. It might be better to stick to OS 4.6.

you sound just like a little apple fan boy, but apparently you have not done your research on iphones. The iphone just like the storm wasn't perfect when it first came out, and it took over a two years just to get MMS and video recording capabilities. I've played with first and second generation iphones and my experience was almost the same to using my Motorola Razor, yet my razor actually had MMS, video recording, and features that every basic phone has yet the iphone lacked until the 3GS. Take your apple fan boy bullshit somewhere else.. nothing is perfect and it takes hours of programming, testing, and a hell of a lot more technical stuff that all your ignorant people just seem to not care about. You just want something and you want it now. That's why half the crap put out on the market never works the way it should because it was released way to early do to people whinning about it not being release yet.

This update is cool and it is so bad at the same time. This just reminds me why Apple is Apple and everything else is a product of Microshaft not ensuring their software works before putting it out.

I have several issues with the 5.0.0.328 “update”

The most annoying is NEW MESSAGES -

The way text messages are now stored is not functional. It puts all of the messages from the same sender into one location and it mashes them all together. You can not start a new message and keep just that correspondence. Now it puts all of the texts that were made with that one person in one, so when you go to review that particular stream of replies it is just added to all the others.

New text messages or the ones listed at the top are frozen and can not be opened intermittently. (Not more than anything) This is just annoying. You get a new text and can not open it. I found if I start a new text string (not reply) with that persons name it will then open the new message … so stupid.

The other is the way the voice call feature is hanging up now. It does not give the sound when waiting for a reply as before, and only randomly will actually call a number after it says it is calling.

The last issue is with Device Memory. Applications will not function or the phone will just freeze like a lame PC computer. Then it will say it is due to the Device Memory being full. After looking at the options/memory it will show for Device Memory TOTAL 879.2mb and FREE 829.7mb ?

I only have like 4 applications that I chose to download, and today it said the application memory was full and asked if I wanted to delete the following applications. Again, just like “new” PC’s that have really good processors but the current Microsoft OS has so much junk loaded in that it takes all of the memory and speed to run it, thus making all that useless.

I want to like this phone and it does have some great features when it works. But after seeing and using the I-Phones that my friends have it looks like a worthless little imitator of another kick butt Apple product. I would not have gotten this but Verizon does not have the I-phone and the coverage of Verizon is so much better than att that I had to stick with them … thus the Blackberry.

I have the 9530 Storm.

Try upgrading to 5.0.0.419. Much newer and I’ve found calling to be improved over .328. One question would be how is signal strength where you have this problem? A marginal signal would make your BLACKBERRY use max cellular output power thus drawing more from battery and generating more heat.

But .419 doesn’t have that Call Waiting feature you wrote about, at least not as you describe it, if that’s a critical feature for you.

when i talk for 30 minutes, my BB gets hang, even poweroff button also not working. I use to remove my battery and resemble, then phone will work.
even its happening for my friend phone. Any solution please share it
