Eric Migicovsky is the entrepreneur behind the BlackBerry watch, an accessory that has BlackBerry enthusiasts interested, but also skeptical about whether they would purchase such a device. The watch connects to your BlackBerry via Bluetooth, and notifies you of any incoming messages, calls, alerts etc.
The watch, called the inPulse, will sell for $149 and will include the following features:
- 1.3″ full colour organic light-emitting-diode (OLED) display
- Bluetooth v2.0+EDR
- 150 mAh lithium-ion polymer battery
- Glass lens and full metal body
- 22mm interchangeable wrist band
- Vibrating motor
- Micro-USB port (for charging)
- Over-the-air firmware updates
- Dimensions: 51mm height x 38mm width x 12mm depth
Would you purchase such an accessory? It’s a fairly unique idea but it also seems a little redundant with so many other accessories out there. For example, you can use the VM605 for driving, or a strong belt clip for running.
You can preorder an inPulse from their site.

I’d rather just wear my normal, nice watch and look at my BB periodically. This seems… a bit over the top and obsessive.
Not me..It looks to bulky, way more then I’d pay for a watch and I don’t wear a watch anyway. Haven’t worn a watch since a short while after getting my first cell phone. I figure the time is on my phone so why wear a watch.
Oh, look! Now I can replace my plastic calculator watch!! Oh, wait. No. I would never in a million years buy this product. I’m thinking whomever came up with this idea is being fired as I type this. Or they should be.
I would love it but it probably will not be waterproof… so im not gonna buy it. I like my watch to be something i can wear all the time. If it is waterproof then i will buy it!
Doubt I would by it!!
Not aesthetically pleasing, does not look like an elegant watch not resemble a blackberry in anyway to me. I do not see it as an accessory for my Bold.
I have paid that list price for watches but they have an elegant look to them that I can wear out and I agree with Chris in the fact that I bet it isn’t even safe to get wet in the rain walking to your car. Not that I ever let my Blackberry get wet walking to my car but still, it’s a watch and on my wrist, it’s going to get wet.
Wow such haters! I’d love this, so inexpensive too
I often have my phone in a coat or pants pocket so would be cool to get all dick tracy with a fun phone
Would want photo caller I’d and other content like read incoming sms, etc
But still, for watch geeks, it’d be a fun toy for a few weeks or months or more depending on ultimate utility
I would not buy. It so bulky. I mean, it would be hard to get my hand into my pocket to get my BB out without getting stuck
.Besides, do you really need that “Dick Tracy wanna be” look??
