RIM needs a new OS. No, not OS5 with just a few more features, it needs a completely new OS, interface and browser. Then once it has that it needs better developer support. Which means making APIs and opening up the device.

Look at the interface between stuff from Apple (springboard), Nokia (maemo), and Palm (webos) and it’s clear that RIM is several years behind. The browser is widely panned as a complete joke, and it is, but nobody is laughing.
It’s insane that with the market share RIM has, it only has a mere fraction of the apps the iPhone has. Not to mention, developers have to support a whole array of devices, screen resolutions and OS versions.

RIM is like that black guy in 300, standing right in front of that well, and is about to get a nice boot to the chest if they don’t make some serious changes.
