Trust me, you won't break it. Just pop the bottom of the cover up at the "notch". Relocate the MicroUSB and Headphone jack to either the top or the bottom (bottom preferably) of the device. When I'm driving I keep my Storm 1 on the charger which comes out the left side of the device. I also plug it into my Alpine on the righ side. Its not really convenient when a call comes in. Also while walking and listening to music with the device in your pocket the device becomes wider, if it was at the top or bottom it would only be longer, narrow is better in the pocket and in the car.
