
UPDATE: We’re hearing that the issue may have been corrected, but there was definitely an interruption in service for some.
Lucas over at BBleaks is reporting that BlackBerry App World is down. I’ve tried it myself on AT&T here in California and it seems to be working fine. Lucas is running on the Verizon network and they have also tested it on AT&T.
It seems the problem isn’t about the network, but possibly a node somewhere in the RIM network.

Nope, had this problem myself a while ago.
Logging in (Paypal – App World) and then re-trying to install the app sovles the problem.
Yes, I have been having this problem for a day or so attempting to download the upgrade for Weatherbug Elite.
I’ve got. A 8900 on TMobile and I can’t access APp world either
I upgraded my QuickPull on my Verizon Tour this afternoon here in Northern Virginia and didn’t have any trouble.
And updated a couple apps on my Verizon Storm no problem yesterday afternoon.

App World sucks balls.. it drains the battery, is slooooow and just plain blows!! just DL apps directly from the mobile site OTA or by SMS.

I had this same error on a VZW Storm — was it yesterday or 2 days ago (11 Nov or 12 Nov). Tried to reinstall Blackberry Messenger and Quickpull and Weatherbug, and all got the failure described here. I just tried it again today, and working fine now.
Yes, I’ve had a problem logging-on to AppWorld for the past two days. I continue to
get an error msg saying the AppWorld is having trouble
connecting to the AppWorld server. Never had this before.

I went to a lower OS and everything works great again…
the 5.0 does not work with aps.
