BlackBerry Developer Day is on Tuesday, February 16th at App Planet, during Mobile World Congress. This is a great opportunity for BlackBerry developers to network, meet the experts, and listen to some interesting speaker sessions.

While you need a code to register, it does allow you to “register your interest.” This probably means you can be slotted in if there are vacancies.

RIM Investor Update for Q3 Fiscal 2010

Comments

buy-stocks-now

With the fiscal 2010 Q3 earnings conference call happening this Thursday, investors and analysts are getting ready to scrutinize Jim Balsillie’s speech as well as their accounting details. Raymond James analyst Steven Li is expecting both good and bad news. The good: RIM has launched a number of successful devices. The bad: Motorola’s Droid is eating sales at Verizon and low Bold 9700 pricing may be hurting Curve sales. Gus Papageorgiou, a Scotia Capital analyst, is recommending investors to stay in for the 4th as he expects it to be a favorable quarter.

WIND Mobile to offer prepaid BlackBerry Bold 9700

Comments

wind_bold_9700

WIND Mobile have announced they will offer the Bold 9700 on a prepaid plan. While prepaid plans are hugely popular in Latin America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, postpaid dominates the North American markets. With no contract, the device goes for $450. This is a really decent price when you compare it to the fact that the Bold 9000 cost $680 with no contract a year ago.

Bell Mobility to sell the BlackBerry Curve 8530 on Boxing Day

Comments

MobileSyrup is reporting that the Curve 8530 will be making its way to Bell, rumored to launch on December 26th. Considering Boxing Day is the day when most stores offer the cheapest deals, I can’t imagine them selling the 8530 for anything but free. The device will likely come in either Black or Royal Purple.
