This news is a little old but in case you’re a car fanatic and haven’t seen it before, GM will be launching a BlackBerry and iPhone app to go along with the Chevy Volt. Through the application, drivers will be able to set the car to charge at a given time, say after midnight when utility rates are lower. Hopefully the app will include more features, such as the ability to get diagnostics on your car, or reminders when oil and tire changes are due.
Epic Applications have updated Call Blocker Pro, the app that lets you send a caller to voicemail, pick up or hang up on them so they don’t even know they were blocked and can’t bother you with voicemails. Call Blocker Pro has a ton of features including Timer Mode, which allows you to set specific times during which you want your Call Blocker profile running.
Other features include:
Pick up and hang up on the caller, or send them to voicemail.
Extremely quick blocking and efficient operation through integration with Options screen, along with an icon to show you the current mode (Enabled or Disabled).
Comprehensive bulk blocking options–private numbers, unknown numbers, numbers not in your contacts, or even all numbers for privacy.
Easily add numbers from your call logs or contact list, or by entering by hand.
Block entire area codes (800, 866, etc).
Automatically send SMS to callers to let them know you are busy, or any other message you want.
Automatically turn on and off at given times.
Whitelist to allow for certain callers to always get through.
Back up and restore your settings to avoid ever having to re-enter.
Total Control for BlackBerry is an interesting app that lets you stream one, or multiple video feeds from a camera to your BlackBerry, allowing you to keep an eye on your property while you’re on the go.
Many of the complaints you hear from users about this application was that it’s too expensive. For the holidays, Total Control are offering their software for half price. If you’re looking for a remote surveillance solution for BlackBerry, then this discount may make the software a good option.
With 50% off, prices look like this:

CrackBerry Kevin has posted more pics of the Pearl 9100, this time comparing it side by side with the Pearl 8130. I’m not sure how long these pics will stay up because I’ve been noticing RIM’s legal team has been really diligent with takedown notices for anything 9100 related.
The Pearl series have been called the “girly” BlackBerry by a lot of users and personally I still think it looks this way. It’s something about the device being tall and slim, it just gives it a girlish look. What do you think? Will this device appeal to a man, woman or either? Turkcell and RIM have announced the Curve 8520 for customers in Turkey. The device costs 59 TL (around $40 USD) per month for 24 months, and it comes with unlimited BIS. While all of RIM’s devices tend to be more expensive when they go overseas, I’m surprised that the 8520 comes at the same price as the 8220.
