Poynt Beta Now Available with Weather Backgrounds and Gas Prices

UPDATE: Thanks to everyone who wrote in about the Poynt Beta. The beta is now closed so stay tuned for the official release.

The latest version of Poynt has been sent out to Beta testers. In this version, 1.5.2.25, the major update is their weather background. To check the weather, all you have to do is launch Poynt, and the app’s background will reflect the conditions outside.

UPDATE: Included in the latest release is the ability to check local gas prices. With the gas prices feature, you will be able to see all the local gas stations in your area and what gas costs at each location. Hopefully this will show up in Canada soon, since it is currently only available in the US.

UPDATE: It also looks like you can grab a leaked version from here but the screenshot used by bbhybrids doesn’t look right to me. It may not be the most recent beta.

Hey Kyle, Gas prices are currently only available in the US. If you switch your location to a US city, you can get a sense of how this feature works. We are working on getting this expanded to all countries we work in today.

I just want to note Poynt is now my favorite App. I have installed it on at least 100 co-workers devices and mention in as one of the must have Blackberry apps when I do a Blackberry users group session.
