I agree, this app is just about ready for a “beta” release to everyone. The GPS locator doesn’t seem to work well enough when looking for surrounding businesses. I’ve entered in several locations, and instead of always bringing up that listing when I go to check in again to the same location, I have to manually search for that listing. Not a huge issue, but one that eventually needs to be addressed. Otherwise its worked great and I recommend anyone who is interested in foursquare to give it a try when it becomes available.

It definitely needs global settings, I think I mentioned that. I don’t think that should prevent them from launching though. I like it when companies label something “beta” and push it out as fast as possible. I don’t mind a few bugs as long as an update comes within a reasonable time frame.

I disagree. This app is not ready for launch. There is no ability to change your city from within the app. Most of the time the checkin button does not find the place I am trying to check in. There is no way to manage global settings (for example, tweeting badges when they’re unlocked).
