+1 Gabriel, I too often pondered this. For an app to be great, it has to work well, it has to be aesthetically appeasing, fast, and useful. Some apps on BlackBerry pull this off somehow, most do not as far as look and feel. Almost all iPhone apps look great. I'm guessing it's the API's but I thought RIM just released new ones, but maybe they don't matter as much. Also RIM just released widgets but I haven't seen one yet so I'm not sure what they look like. Maybe these will help the looks of BlackBerry apps. I have an iPod touch for this very reason, I can't wait until Verizon gets their version of the iPhone.

One of my top favorite apps for my iPod Touch is the Guitar Toolkit, nothing comes even close to it from BlackBerry developers. Plus the Blackberry has multitouch so I can play 4 to 8 notes on a piano keyboard, I don't think this is possible with BlackBerry. now I know these are kind of apps that wouldn't be for a normal BlackBerry user but I'm not normal.

The other issue is RIM will need to figure out memory issues. I can barely have 10 apps on my Blackberry before it starts telling me I need to delete some for memory. My ipod touch has 4 pages of apps and still going strong. That's a big void that Blackberry needs to address. They can have 1000's of apps but until I can load more than 10 at a time then no thanks.

But i have one question here? why the UI is so different??

Blackberry is already in OS 5.0, they promise is amazing the OS but why the developers keep doing apps with UI so poor? u see an app from android or iphone and it looks amazing, but u see that same app in Blackberry and its ugly, the buttons, the colors, windows...

Why the difference? Apis from RIM? or developers?
