Rogers 3G Network Down – Today is a 2G Day

UPDATE: Reports are coming in specifically from Ontario, Canada. Just to be clear.

We’re getting reports that the Rogers 3G network has been shotty all day and in many cases going down completely. If you’re experiencing problems, turn off your 3G connection and you should be good. We’ve heard that there was a planned BlackBerry service outage yesterday and I doubt the two are related but you never know.

    Turns out this outtage of UMTS/HSPA was affecting only 2 small town locations in Ontario.

    Yeah, It’s been junk since yesterday. Not connecting, connecting but not working, connecting and working but slower than EDGE etc… The EDGE trick does work, but EDGE is sooo sloooow.

    Been this way for a couple of days for me. Constantly losing connection, unless I go to Edge, at which point it gets stable. Switching to 3G may work for a few minutes, but then loses the network completely and goes No Service. Ottawa, ON.

    No 2G or 3G in Manitoba either… what is the issue with this.. Rogers said yesterday after downloading the fix it would pick it back up… well GOOD LUCK with that !

    Rogers network for #G is extremely good. Hopefully they will overcome with this problem very soon.
