I can see why you got that BBM spam; your friend is a complete tool who, for some inane reason, decided that All Words Should Be Capitalized. Kudos for doing it on a BlackBerry, though.

It’s not so much spam but the gullibility of a group of users. If you don’t give your PIN to public forums or to friends that are prone to starting these messages you’re not going to have to worry about spam on your BBM.
