There is still no 5.0 for 8330m. I am in the same boat a lot of Sprint 8330 users. As are you I’m guessing. I love the phone just wish things ran a little bit quicker.

Ted, one the the things that still does not work on mine is the GPS. Have now found that at times………. the battery goes down very fast as well as ram but also found that if I put it away in holster for a while the battery stops draining and the ram comes back as if the memory leakage is corrected by the OS when holstered. Can’t really figure it out. Wish there was some authority on this. Obviously 5.0 is not for anyone who uses the 8330 seriously. Ram on it is limited enough that I could not use all the apps I wanted before 5.0 and have had to remove even more to get 5.0 to work at all. I really need to go back to 4.5 or just get a new Tour. I’m thinking that Verizon will not put the 5.0 out for use because they are already selling the NEW Curve and would not want to hurt sales. Same with Sprint and the rest. Boost just got the old one so……. see what I mean?

I installed it on my Verizon 8330, but like Daryl also found everything to be unreasonably slow. In my case, I was running low on RAM–I guess the 5.0 OS takes up more space.

so….will this boost mobile version work on vzw 8330′s? if not, anyone know when official release will be for vzw? also, I intend to upgrade to a newer blackberry or other vzw smartphone offering uncrippled GPS chip to work with gps golf apps. However, if the 5.0 OS for the 8330 uncripples the gps chip, I’ll stick with the 8330 a while longer. anyone know??

I finally installed it on my Alltel/Verizon 8330 this afternoon. Took hours to put back all the apps and when I finally got it done…….its slow as **** and GPS does not work. I’m too tired to put the old opp sys back on today but I will do it tomorrow because I cannot stand sitting and waiting every time I request something. Seems to be plenty of RAM left so that is not the issue. I’m thinking that RIM has screwed up. There is no sense in having 5.0 if its going to make all the apps this slow. Browswer is some better but got frustrated at waiting so long for everything so I just stopped playing with it. Anyone else had similar experience?

Works on the Verizon 8330. Haven’t fully tested it yet, but so far, so good. Other than the GPS. Not like that’s any surprise, though.
