This is the first week after the holidays and there were some great apps launched as well as some awesome apps such as UberTwitter have been updated. We’re also expecting big updates from Slacker and Poynt in the near future so keep an eye out for them. Stay tuned for some CES 2010 coverage, with BlackBerry Cool correspondent and power user Nan Palmero.
Slacker are working on version 3.0 of their awesome streaming music app and Jessica at CNET got a preview of what we can expect. Version 3.0 will give users the ability to sync cached songs OTA, with a data or WiFi connection. Apparently the syncing process is a little slow unless you’re using WiFi but the feature is still a much wanted addition. The sync feature will only be available to Slacker Radio Plus members, which will run your about $4 per month. Expect Slacker 3.0 to hit App World in a few weeks.
LinkedIn is probably the most popular social network for professionals and a BlackBerry app has been in demand for a long time now. The app is very symbiotic with BlackBerry in that they’re both helpful for your career and focused on business. Doug over at Inside BlackBerry took a really blurry video of the app, giving us an idea of what this app would be like if you were drunk. From their discussion, it seems you will be able to sync your BlackBerry Address Book with your LinkedIn Address Book.
Energizer are at CES showing off their new energy solutions for mobile devices including the EnergiStick, which comes in microUSB and mini USB types. The battery add on will add up to 80 minutes stand by time and up to 60 minutes talk time. For anyone who is traveling and might need some extra juice on the go, this accessory could be a real help.
