Pic of my Bold after buying some OEM parts for it.

I’m a Bold 9000 user and the last time I saw an official release was in early January when OS 5.0.0.411 came courtesy of Bell Mobility. Zain Kuwait has officially launched OS 5.0.0.464, and I’m looking forward to seeing some performance improvements. On that note, has anyone noticed any serious battery drainage with .411?

Download OS 5.0.0.464 from Zain Kuwait.

I have noticed that my battery lasts 2-3 times longer on 5.0.0.411 I am quite happy with it. Since my upgrade a week ago to 5.0.0.464 I noticed that a Bluetooth streaming issue was solved but another one came forward like when you change tracks with your deck all of a sudden no music plays you have to press back to go to the beginning of the song and it seems to work.Has anyone seen weird screen changes happen like you click on an email and music pops up or you cancel a screen and an options screen pops up?

I installed the bell release of 5.0.0.411 on my rogers 9000 (followed instructions for vendor file) and since then, my battery goes into melt down at least once every 2 days. Its been quite frustrating, as its generally unpredictable and requires a battery pull, after which i barely have any juice left. I hope a new release will fix this issue.

Some OS are tied to the carrier and will not show up under Desktop Manager. These installs are not for newbie's or people that don’t like to work to get something installed other than double click, but if you want there are instructions on the net if you look for using BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife and installing it using their system.

Have solved the problem, please find the instructions below:Instructions:1. Delete vendor.xml in C:Program FilesCommon FilesResearch In MotionAppLoader2. Close Blackberry Desktop Manager3. In the same folder wher you just deleted vendor.xml, run the loader app which will start the update process.

No once your phone is unlocked nothing will lock it again.

@Caspan, would the unlock still hold if I did a software unlock and not the IMEI unlock from my operator?

I never knew there was 2 different ways to be honest as far as I know there are only hardware unlocks. All my BlackBerry Smartphones are unlocked and I have never had an issue upgrading. Who did the software unlock so I can look it up?

windows 7 users u hv to delete vendor xml in program data/research in motion

along with the actual program files

  • http://caspan.com Caspan

This has nothing to do with the vendor.xml file. That's for installing different carriers installs on your phone.
