Have you ever stopped to think that maybe the slow adoption rate of BlackBerry OS 5.x is due to the fact that the BlackBerry OS 5.x upgrade STILL hasn't been distributed by a significant number of service providers?

Whilst I plan to upgrade to BlackBerry OS 5.x as soon as its available, there's really not that much incentive because there's so few new features... It's not the "whole new operating system" that many people were expecting, and it's not the "laundry list of new features" that others were expecting.

T-Mobile (USA) also doesn't have any updates to OS5 yet for the 8800 or the 8320. Perhaps there would be more people who would upgrade if they could. Did BB forget about the “older” phones?

I don't upgrade until my carrier has the upgrade available. Since I'm on AT&T, I'm still below 5.0 Plus everything is running fine on my Bold 9000.

I do blame the carriers. There is no reason for newer phones like the 8520 and the 9630 not to have OS 5.0 yet…

Rogers is the same but I like why they do it. If you have dabbled with 5.0.464 it is full of small bugs and should never of been released. 5.0.411 is 10 times more stable. Some carriers have a better QA team that will not let junk onto their network. AT7T seems to be the same that until their internal team approves it it never is published. It can be frustrating to wait but sometimes it is for the best as much as you want to pull your hair out
