RIM Demo the Upcoming WebKit BlackBerry Browser

RIM have put up video demoing the WebKit browser that we’re expecting later this year and it looks really awesome so far. Mike Lazaridis was showing it off at MWC and it handles pages very smoothly. AJAX and JavaScripts run nicely in the browser and it scores a 100/100 on the ACID3 compliance test. The upcoming browser will support HTML 5, CSS3, DOM L3, Widgets and JIL Widgets. I can’t wait until this browser gets leaked so we can try it out for ourselves.

Wow most desktop bowers don't even score 100/100 on the ACID3 test. Good job RIM!

Beats Firefox who is still only at 94/100 on the Acid3 testHowever BlackBerry is already pretty good with a 91 on Acid3 http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/233623…The big news here is faster pan/zoom and quicker javascript

JavaScript for sure I cannot wait for that! And even still the ACID3 test is not a measure as to how good the browser runs but more of a how it renders content according to standards. it could score 100 on it and run 10 time slower to do it. Some browsers cut corners and lose score on ACID3 test to render content faster. What I am wondering now is if RIM will allow bigger pages to be fed to the BlackBerry instead of the “Requested entry is to large” error.
