Kindle App for BlackBerry Now Available

Amazon have launched Kindle for BlackBerry, a free download that gives you access to 420,000 books, including 102 of 121 NYT Bestsellers. The Kindle app will also sync your last page read and annotations between your BlackBerry and other Kindle-compatible devices.

    /sigh it doesnt work, I get prompted to change my permissions but I cant change internet from prompt to allow (not offered) and when I leave it at prompt it doesnt work. -Eric BB Storm 2, 5.0 OS, BES 5.0

    I tried this in the morning. It bricked my phone and I just got through reinstalling everything.

    So after installing I got prompted for permissions however it woudlnt let me change them to allow. I have documented the fix here: http://digitaljive.wordpress.com/2010/02/19/bla… Issue was related to BES server permission in 5.0Also for the Storm there is no tint / landscape mode and there is no white text on black background. This makes it hard to read at night and eats up battery for nothing. I just dont get it, such simple things left out. You cant possibly tell me it would have taken more than a day to add that stuff to this app or the desktop version. Also the iPhone version has both items…. Shame on you Amazon… Get it together before istore kicks your butt. You owe me a pair of shorts.

    Wroeked perfectly for me on Curve 8900 running 5.0.0.461. Very nice, the white on black text would be a welcome addition, but this is a great start

    I would be more inclined to using it if, instead of confining me only to books from Amazon store, it also allowed me to read books already on my memory card.

    I use the Kindle for BlackBerry on my Storm 2 and think it's great. The text reads well on the large display and buying books is almost too easy. I would like to see the highlights/notes feature soon as Amazon says it will be added in the future. No issues when installing the app and my Storm 2 was automatically “registered” with my Amazon account upon installation. Great app if you have a decent sized display.
