1,000 Free Copies of The Art of War by Sun Tzu Available in App World

The Art of War eBook from S4BB is available free in BlackBerry App World for the first 1,000 downloads only. This might be the first full book I read on a BlackBerry. The company has already sent an email out so there’s no telling how long this deal is available.

Check out The Art of War in App World.

The book installed by the reader didn't after an hour of trying. I removed the app entirely from my Tour.

The book did not indicate that it installed, it came up with a Red X. Upon doing another attempt it asked if I wanted to download the book again, when I responded NO it then indicated a Green check by the book. Then, naturally, the reader would not install as mentioned below. After a couple of attempts with the reader I too gave up and deleted the whole thing. Do you remember the commercial line “we will serve no wine before it's time”? That certainly seems appropriate for this reader app.

Loads fine on my Bold 9700. When I click on it, it shows up pretty much like shown on the screen shot above. But without the buttons because that shot is from the storm. It takes a couple of seconds to load the book, but when it is done, I can just scroll down and up, page wise and stuff. So I don't know what your problem is :( May be try their support, they are usually very helpful.

Nice! I've already got The Art of War on my Kindle app, but am tempted to see what this is like as well.

Doesn't work on my 9700. Same Issues that Kevin & brayndeded have, I'm experiencing. I'll try it again in a few days when the so called FREE run is done. If it works by completely downloading all components then (3G/wlan) then its most likely the host of the app.

Of course I hear about this almost half a year later! To be perfectly honest I got my Blackberry just two months ago so it would have been useless to have the information about the book. I do admire their initiative though.

So is this an app or an ebook?

This is an application – with its own ebook loader proprietary to the app itself. Had issues with it & never got it to actually load “The Art of War”; the app worked though – just no book to read.
