Tristan Interactive has been on BlackBerryCool before, with its CEO Chris McLaren talking with Rob Woodbridge about the company that is partnering with museums and galleries to build custom tour environments that go far beyond the typical self-guided tours. The company has made a pretty awesome announcement that it has partnered with the Canadian Museum of Civilization to introduce an innovative BlackBerry app for potential and current visitors.
On top of being an excellent audioguide for the museum, Tristan’s app gives users access to interactive floor maps, a calendar of events and information about hours of operation, admission fees and public services. The Museum of Civilization’s app is available for the BlackBerry Bold 9700, and is available in both official languages.
Other features include:
- Automatic updates about new Museum programs and exhibitions.
- Two audioguides, which were previously accessible only on Museum-supplied headsets.
- Access to guides for Canada Hall, which relays the history of Canada from year 1000 to the present and the First Peoples Hall, which shares with listeners how Canada’s First Peoples shaped our country as we now know it.
