GtechBB is a theme by BB-Freaks that features a pop-up dock that is activated with a space bar click to reveal 7 customizable icons and a Today preview. The theme is very wallpaper friendly, allowing you to select a custom wallpaper which is framed within the theme. Overall. this theme has a metallic color scheme and that would go really well with the 9700′s silver bezel.
TELUS and the QEII Foundation have announced a “pink” campaign to help bring new innovative breast cancer equipment to Nova Scotia. Between May 6th and October 31st, TELUS is donating $25 to the QEII Foundation for every pink BlackBerry Curve 8530 or upcoming pink BlackBerry Pearl 3G sold.
The TELUS “Go Pink” campaign is spread across Canada and helps by funding breast cancer technologies in facilities such as: BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre Foundation, Alberta Cancer Foundation, Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, CancerCare Manitoba, Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation in Toronto, The Ottawa Hospital Foundation, Segal Cancer Center at the Montreal Jewish General Hospital and QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax.
Initially, Verizon’s Tour 9630 users were quicker to adopt OS 5.0 than Storm users. One month after the official release of OS 5, 71.1% of users upgraded to the new operating system. The Storm 9530 in comparison, saw only 61.4% after the first month, and took a full three months to get past the 70% mark.
The higher rate for the first month may be due to pent up demand after Verizon and RIM took their sweet time releasing this. Although, the early release of OS 5 was more productive for the 9530 which has since climbed to 81.4% adoption.
These statistics come from the time of download of the popular free game Pixelated. Given that this game has been available for both devices for a while now, it is doubtful that there is any early adopter effect distorting these numbers.

The BlackBerry 9670 clamshell now has a leaked video up on YouTube but sadly the audio has been taken out. The walkthrough shows some of the inner workings of OS 6 and the navigation looks very smooth. The rubberband effect is present throughout the menus, much like the experience you get on the Storm2. As ugly as the device seemed in pictures, it actually looks pretty good in-hand. Some of the applications we get to see in action include BBM 5.0.1.5, Facebook, Twitter, Viigo and App World, which we’re all hoping comes preloaded. If the video gets taken down we have some screenshots after the jump. Continue reading ‘Video Walkthrough of BlackBerry OS 6 on a 9670 Clamshell’
