The facebook 1.8 app is amazing. I have a blackberry Bold 9700 and i had 1.7 on it and it never used it due to the lack of performance. It made my phone slow right down so i could not even move my trackpad through the menu. It wouldn't close when i clicked close or the exit button. But now that i have version 1.8 everything is better. It makes facebook fun again. its fast responsive and it works like a charm. im very impressed with the performance upgrades. Thank you RIM!

Or the notifications look like crap. I got birthday reminders that are just 1 long run on sentence. Since I deleted FB on my BlackBerry I get nice beautiful HTML emails with pictures and links… I have no idea what's up with their application but man does it stink.

I agree I still use mine to connect… You have to leave enough intact so people can find you but right now I was born on Feb 29th 1904

The current FB app does notifications for anything FB will email you for. As for if it is any good or not, it has performance problems and lacks some features. It's good to know they are working on it.

Well Said. However those of us out there still wish to reach out to long lost old & good friends. But I completely agree with FaceBooks' security issues - this is EXACTLY why they delay with going public because they'll loose control and this issue will be forced to be dealt with.

Not much longer and FaceBook may not be heavily used by me. I'll see if I'm up for testing - but doubtful I'll post anything about it as it is Confidential!

Just remember what FaceBook cannot sell, Google surely will.

Any idea if this is any good? I cant see any tester feedbacks here. I have an 8520 and would love to be hooked on fb. But it should wake up by Blackberry when I get a status update or a poke etc. so I know there is activity.

Sorry RIM/Facebook you're way to late. Facebook was removed weeks ago off my BlackBerry. I was sick of that POS application. You blew your chance to penetrate the BlackBerry for me and I am sure I am not the only one.... Facebook you have failed us in so many different ways you're just a photo posting/contact site now. All my mandatory data data is incorrect so when you sell it to advertisers it's useless to them..

I encourage everyone to do the same until Facebook starts to respect our privacy! If you're going to sell our data than we will make sure the data you have is worth nothing!
