Verizon BlackBerry Tour 9630 Receives End of Life

The Verizon BlackBerry Tour 9630 (with and without a camera) has been given an End of Life and will be receiving “limited shipments from the vendor”. This is a little surprising as the device is only about a year old. Regardless of what RIM marketing says, the BlackBerry Bold 9650 is the updated Tour and it looks like Verizon doesn’t want the first Tour around anymore. It’s really a shame that the original Tour wasn’t launched with a trackpad and WiFi because it would have probably had a longer life cycle.

No need to keep this around now that the 9650 is out. It is a good thing that RIM is no longer keeping their phones around well past their prime.

It was DOA…can't wait to get rid of mine. Droids and iPhones are more appealing to me than ever before. I just want a phone that can run an app without sucking all the memory out and having stall out times. Gosh forbid I ever have an emergency and need to use my phone without having to wait 20 seconds for the timer to stop spinning.
