BlackBerry 6 looks very promising, especially to those who wants to have a good Smartphone. Sending messages and looking at your inbox will never be easier than BB 6's Social Feeds. It even has a wireless music syncing. Tag songs on your phone that you want, and when you return home, your music is automatically synced from your computer to your phone via Wi-Fi. No strings attached and no further human interaction needed. Awesome!

i would never go back to iphone i moved to the 32g 3gs 18 months ago and i have come back to bb torch- I am now happy and the e-mail compression is the major advantage and benefit.

ok so the torch processor is smaller and i can live with not using the apps that ip offer...... although i can see the benefit of standing at a bar pretending to drink a pint of lager....but then again i did look like a dik!

anyhow well done rim and i lurve my BB torch- Im never moving away again.......even if Steve whatshisname says the wi-fi works!

I guess our host is sleeping for serious research; I cannot see any of the previous 37comments. Maybe awaiting approval.

I'm on the verge of going to IP4 - yes even me. I love my 9700; sold it to a good friend - on the cheap - who may need to sell it to me back again. He's switching providers who don't support HSPA on 850/1900Mhz.

My main reason for IP4 - besides the plethora of incredible apps - is the core email functionality to deal with HTML properly. No restrictions of taking a picture and sending it to anyone I choose by any means; video too - both a huge restriction on BB.

9700+BB6 having this ability "Another big update in BlackBerry 6 Messages is the HTML email view. It seems the Messages folder makes use of the Webkit engine to render the HTML, whereas before we needed a third party app to help with HTML emails" is the KEY for so many users. this may bring me back or hold me to stay with RIM.

* Until providers networks begin to be bogged down by data consumption by end users - not corporate users btw; then the use of NOC for data other than BBM & BIS/BES emails doesn't sell well to the end user. Maybe in 3-5yrs possibly, for now its a tough sell to us all; only the provider cares.

* RIM better start living up to their nameplate "Research In Motion" and start delivering more of that research. Corporate users are no longer the laggards they used to be; my current work environment has Win7, Exchange '07 - testing 2010 beta - XP SP3, BES users mostly on 9700's and several users on iPhone 3GS'. RIM can deliver a linux OS with implemented functionality of their core NOC and email prowess while maintaining exclusitivity with BBM.

Security is not an issue with Linux, heck even go one more with FreeBSD as a core OS - this way Java, Flash, OpenGL ES 2.0, and other key technologies can be implemented while their not forced to give the core code for free to the open source community; though the deep underpinnings could to improve performance and functionality. RIM has already and successfully changed core OS once before (C++ to MIDP2.0/2.1). I don't want RIM to loose the key functionality and implementation of core PIM apps with 3rd party apps - I think they're the best at this - and this can lead to a new platform. right now I'm afraid RIM's BlackBerry appeal will fall to the Corporate user based as a majority again - loosing many consumers.
