AG Findings has let us know that they have four new protective accessories for the BlackBerry Torch called the Glide Rail Technology (GRT) Shell, Premium Leather Pouch, Endo GRT and Endo GRT with holster.
The Glide Rail Technology (GRT) Shell costs $34.99 and is built such that your device is protected but can slide in and out as it was designed to do. The rails use something they call Glide-Tech Resin to ensure smooth operation and prevent scratching when inserting and removing the shell. The GRT Shell also allows complete access to all ports and controls, and includes two interchangeable fronts: Smoked Chrome and Metallic Blue. BlackBerry Desktop Manager has been updated with some decent improvements as well as support for the BlackBerry Torch 9800. While Mac users will still not be able to connect their Torch to their computer, the majority of users are PC so it makes sense to tackle this segment first. The latest Desktop Manager features:
An improved UI
More Media Sync features such as the ability to import and sync media from one location
BlackBerry Torch and Curve 3G support
The ability to manage your music collection over your home WiFi network

Currently, App World on the Torch lists 241 Games and 30 themes. While it’s very possible that the number of games is correct, you have to wonder about the numbers if there are 30 themes listed. Just as with any new BlackBerry launch, theme builder is lagging behind and there aren’t any themes available just yet for this device. What’s happening is that theme developers and probably a lot of game developers, are simply listing their app/theme as “available for all devices” and haven’t updated their listing to exclude the Torch. What’s for certain though, is that Bplay currently hosts a great deal of games that are ported to play nicely on the Torch and are available the day you pick up your device. Sadly, no themes are available but considering the smoothness of BlackBerry 6, users probably aren’t scrambling for themes the way they do with other devices.
Back in July we wrote about a private Xobni beta that featured LinkedIn Sign-in integration and this beta is now available to the masses. Xobni (inbox backwards) are well known for their popular Microsoft Outlook add-in that allows you to manage your email and contacts, as well as discover more about those you work with. Xobni for BlackBerry is a great way to find contacts on your device as the app sorts them based on frequency of communication and gives you one click access for getting in touch with these contacts.
