The above is from the iPhone version
The Power Spotlight app, which is currently available for iPhone, has gone into beta for BlackBerry. The app displays energy data that shows users the best and worst times to run electrical devices. In many cities across North America, municipalities have determined certain times where energy is cheaper and more expensive in order to meet high demand zones. Power Stoplight’s app formats and displays this data for consumers so they can easily see and understand when is the best time to use or generate electricity.

BerryBlow apps let us know that they have updated two of their games with Torch support as well as some bug fixes. The first, Durak, is a popular international card game. The object of the game is to get rid of all your cards before your opponent does. At the end of the game, make sure you’re not the player with cards in your hand or you become the “Durak” (fool).
Durak is currently on sale for $3.99 in the store. Keep reading for more about the Mancala game update.

Ever noticed how BlackBerrys put the BIS email signature at the very bottom of an email chain? That isn’t helpful for anyone. With SmartSig, you won’t have this problem. SmartSig lets you create your email signature in SmartSig and it will place the signature in the proper location in outgoing emails, which is right at the end of the message body you are sending. Other features of SmartSig 2.0 include:
- Create, edit, and delete email signatures directly on your device.
- Automatically places the correct email signature in the proper location within your outgoing email messages.
Signature conditions can be added to test the To, CC, BCC, From, Subject or Message Body for the presence or lack of keywords.
- Signature can require that all conditions be met or that any condition be met in order to apply the signature.
- Backup and restore your signatures using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
- Enable and disable individual signatures.
- Support for all BlackBerry 4.5 and higher devices, including BlackBerry 6.
SmartSig is available in the store for a reasonable $2.99 and even comes with a free trial.

The BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 is one of the less impressive BlackBerrys hitting the market but it should nonetheless be a hit. The Curve series has had an incredible sales record across North America due to its low price point and small, consumer friendly shape. The new 3G Curve will potentially be a big seller like the previous models, but offer a few incremental hardware upgrades.
In Australia, the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 will be available in Optus and Vodafone stores at the beginning of September and at 3 stores from October. The device will be available from Vodafone free on £25, 24 month price plans, including 500 minutes, unlimited texts, 500MB of data and email. In Indonesia and Malaysia the Curve 3G is expected to be available in September.
Keep on eye on RIM’s press section to see more Curve 3G announcements internationally.

Back in April we wrote about an app called mProductive that was looking for beta testers. The app is by the same people who brought you mCaller and thanks to your help with the beta, they are live in App World. mProductive allows you to create action items from calls, emails and SMS’s which then appear in your native BlackBerry task list, calendar and memo pad. Once the items are created, you can link them quickly to groups, and then view them automatically by day, week, future, overdue and more. The app is tightly integrated with the BlackBerry Calendar, Tasks, Memos, Email and Desktop Sync.
Check out mProductive in App World. The app is a little on the expensive side at $29.99 USD but it’s worth it if you find yourself more productive.

Earlier this month we mentioned that the Hypoxia media player would soon be available and mblware has let us know that it’s live in the store. Hypoxia allows you to stream media to and from devices on your home WiFi network. All you have to do is browse the networked media servers (eg TVersity or Windows Media Player) through Hypoxia, and select what you want to watch or listen to. Another cool feature is the ability to share what you’re watching or listening to over Twitter.
Hypoxia requires at least OS 5.0 and more information is available in the store.
