Zendesk Announces BlackBerry mobile App for Enterprise Customer Support



Zendesk has announced that they now offer Zendesk for BlackBerry – an app that lets customer support agents use the Zendesk ticket system from their mobile. The app’s workflow capability allows agents to receive and respond to customer support requests in real time, as well as log support issue details for follow-up. New Zendesk users can also create an account directly from Zendesk’s BlackBerry mobile help desk app. Features of the app include:

Kobo unveils BBM-enabled eReader for BlackBerry PlayBook


A special social version of Kobo eReader software was revealed today at DevCon during the BlackBerry PlayBook announcement. Kobo for BlackBerry PlayBook is an industry-first social eReading experience, with lots of BBM flavored sharing and communications options.

New features include shopping for books with a friend, reading with a group, exchanging passages and discussing books in real time. These new social features will reinvent the book club with slick BBM connectivity.

There are at present about 2 million titles in the Kobo store, as well as thousands of free classic books available for download.

BlackBerry Theme Studio 6 Beta Now Available for Download

The BlackBerry Theme Builder has a more intuitive UI. You can click on any object on the Preview screen and make changes directly to the object. The latest version comes with Torch and BlackBerry 6 support, as well as offers some new features for making BlackBerry themes. With the latest version, you can now change the font and color for pop-up menus, group box, tray and universal search. Another cool feature is the ability to extend Today items to BBM, Facebook and Twitter.

RIM and Webtrends Announce Free Analytics Software for BlackBerry Developers

Today at DevCon2010, RIM and Webtrends announced they are working together to deliver free enterprise-class analytics for BlackBerry developers. The BlackBerry Analytics Service, powered by Webtrends, will enable developers easily and swiftly add measurement into their applications. This is great news for developers who will be able to use mobile analytics to optimize their software and craft the best user experience possible. This will lead to developers listening to their users without the user having to do anything at all.

Using Webtrends’ SDK, BlackBerry developers can integrate metrics tracking in their apps and capture relevant events. Trackable events include: app use, frequency of use, features used and screens accessed.

The BlackBerry Analytics Service powered by Webtrends will be available for free in early 2011.
