BIS 3.2 Update Rumored to Hit Americas Weekend of October 16th

BIS 3.2 is available in Asia Pacific and the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) and rumor has it that the update will hit the Americas (North and South), during the weekend of October 16th. The update will include:

  • Google Mail Calendar Synchronization – Subscribers can perform two-way synchronization of Google calendar entries and entries in the calendar application on the BlackBerry smartphone.
  • Automatic Login Enhancements – The automatic login feature is now available to more subscribers. Subscribers who use a user name and password to access their BlackBerry Internet Service accounts no longer have to type their user name and password on their smartphones to manage their email addresses.
  • Show and Hide Password Option – Subscribers can choose to show or hide the passwords for all email addresses that need to be validated by clicking the Show password or Hide password options.
  • New Password Criteria – Newly created passwords for BlackBerry Internet Service accounts and BlackBerry email addresses must meet new criteria.

    BlackBerry Torch 9800 Gets OS 6.0.0.246 Update for All Major Carriers

    Fairly recently, TELUS, Rogers and AT&T have all released an updated OS 6.0.0.246 for the BlackBerry Torch. The Torch, while it’s a really cool BlackBerry, comes with some new software that isn’t completely ready. The first iteration, 6.0.0.141, had some pretty serious bugs in it, including glitches in the scrolling and sometimes critical screen failures. The latest update is pretty massive, 177.78MB from TELUS, and hopefully it comes with some serious improvements.

    CTIA 2010: AppMobi Announces Cross Platform Developer Kit for Web Developers

    Creating web apps that perform and look like native apps is a hot trend right now in the industry. Joe Monastiero, VP at AppMobi, announced this morning at the iHollywood Forum, a pre-CTIA event, that their new cross-platform mobile application development framework is available for web and mobile developers to start using.

    AppMobi’s Cross Platform Developer kit allows developers to use existing web development tools to create native mobile apps. With the XDK, native iPhone, iPad, and Android apps can be created with any tool that can edit web pages – such as DreamWeaver, Eclipse, or Visual Studio.

This game is based off of the classic dice game of strategy and deception in which seeing only your own dice you must bet on the combined dice in play without getting caught in a lie. The game is popular in many different cultures and is also known by the names Perudo, Dudo, or Cachito.

    Sccope Mobile Shopping App Reduces Price to $1.99

    Sccope has announced a limited time price cut on their BlackBerry app. The app is running a special sale right now where for 10 days, starting today, the app is dropped to $1.99 (from $2.99). Sccope is available on BlackBerry App World and is adding retailers and their products daily. According to Sccope, shoppers save 25% on average and as high as 75% on single items.
