BlackBerry Traffic Beta App Now Available in App World Test Center

Recently, the first-party BlackBerry Traffic beta app became available in the BlackBerry App World Test Center. The app lets you plan where you want to be and helps you get there on time. The BlackBerry Traffic app can tell you if a road is closed and offer a faster, alternative route. Being a first-party app, RIM has implemented some decent integration, allowing you to grab addresses directly from your Address Book and email or text the contact a preset message.

Gym Technik Updated with Torch and BlackBerry 6 Support

The Gym Technik team let us know that they have completed an upgrade to their app and it’s now compatible with the new BlackBerry Torch and any device running OS6. They’ve also added in a slew of new features, one of which is a built-in resting and recovery timer.

BlackBerry Developer Conference 2010 and PlayBook Impressions

We’ve attended many a BlackBerry Developer Conference and each year they get better. Back in 2008, we ran the BlackBerryCool 15 – a contest for developers with BlackBerry Storms as giveaways. It was a fun gig with lots of industry veterans. The year after, the Partners Fund hosted the BlackBerry Final 16, which was a lot of fun and some cool developers showed up. This year, Mike Lazaridis hit the ball way out of the park with the BlackBerry PlayBook announcement, making DevCon a must-attend event for not just developers but anyone who wants to see something new and exciting from RIM.

Datepedia 2.0 Now Available with Super App Status

Ricoh Updates HotSpot Printing App with Global Printer Directory

Ricoh has released a new version of their mobile printing app called Hotpot. The app leverages a global printer directory with over 4,000 publicly available printers today. The app is designed to take full advantage of the newest blackberry features and was included in the press release for regional winners in the Super App challenge.

Rogers BlackBerry Curve 8900 gets Official OS 5.0

Rogers let us know that an official OS 5.0 build is available for the Curve 8900. We’re still trying to get them to send us a full log file and hopefully they’ll include it in future announcements. Until then, just hit the download site to set yourself up.
