When BlackBerry 6 was ramping up, we saw a few themes that gave users the ability to get a BlackBerry 6-like experience before launch. Now that the PlayBook has been getting a lot of media coverage and screenshots, we have a few themes out there that seek to mimic the UI and experience. We know that the PlayBook and QNX OS are coming to smartphones, and while it probably won’t look exactly like the PlayBook, we’ll definitely see a lot of the same features. It will be cool to see theme developers take a shot at guessing what a QNX OS BlackBerry UI would look like.

RIM has updated BlackBerry Desktop Manager and while there isn’t anything in the update that’s terribly exciting, it does come with better encryption for backup files. Hit the jump and read about the fixed issues in this latest build of Desktop Manager.

BerryBlow let us know that the popular Stocks+ app has been updated to version 1.1 with some cool new notification settings. You can now specify alerts for stock changes and get notifications every time the aler is triggered. In the current version, you can create alerts of these scenarios:
- More, less than current value;
- Value is outside the interval (minimum – maximum);
- Difference between average of the day and current value (in %);
- Difference between 52 week average and current value (in %).

RIM has released version 2.0.0.64 of BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac and there are a few new features to help you better sync your device with your Mac. The latest update includes features such as:
- WiFi Music Sync
- Device Switch Wizard
- Import and sync photos and videos with iPhoto and iTunes
