Yesterday, RIM released the official update to App World which brought in-app payments. Eric at Ebscer let us know that the Hockey Scores app has been updated to version 2.4, which gives users the ability to make a one-time in-app payment to remove all advertising from the app. Removing ads from the application costs just $0.99, and the option is shown in both the menu and on the about page. Remember, if you’re not running App World 2.1, you won’t have this option.

Funambol has launched a mobile cloud service that wirelessly syncs your BlackBerry with your PC and Outlook. The service also allows you to upload pictures to social networks and photo sites. The service is available in Beta in App World, or you can check out the service by downloading it from your device.

BBerryGo has updated its popular product Show Me The Images with some bug fixes and a couple small features. If you haven’t heard of the app, Show Me The Images allows you to see the images in an email without having to click “Get Images”. The app automatically downloads images in your email and allows you to set up whitelists directly from an easy-to-access menu. In this latest version, the following has been updated:

Hats off to SmrtGuard – these guys do a great job of marketing their applications. Xobni launched a free version of its contact management app for BlackBerry a few weeks ago and they let us know that they’ve had an incredible amount of uptake since. In two weeks, Xobni says they’ve seen over 100,000 downloads of their free version.
